Staff & Service

Your stay at Destiny is supported by a dedicated local team, including a cook, housekeeper, grounds and pool attendant, and nightly security, providing a comfortable and well-supported experience throughout your time at the villa.

Meals are prepared based on your preferences using fresh, local ingredients, allowing you to enjoy authentic Jamaican cuisine in a relaxed, private setting. The staff are attentive yet respectful of your space, offering support as needed while allowing you to settle into your own pace. The staff can also assist in arranging local experiences such as boat trips to the Pelican Bar or guided tours to the Black River. Airport transfers and additional excursions can be coordinated in advance or during your stay through Tiverton House, LLC trusted local drivers.

• Staff gratuity is not included and is paid directly to the team at the end of your stay

• Grocery and pantry expenses are based on your group’s preferences

• Pre-stocking can be arranged prior to arrival

• Airport transfers and local excursions are additional and can be coordinated with trusted drivers

Guests should plan for the following additional expenses:

• Staff gratuity: 15% of the standard rental rate. Prime Season 10% of the rental rate.

• Groceries and pantry items: Average Budget US$40–45/adult/day and US$15–20/child/day

• Grocery shopping, round-trip taxi service: US$50 per trip to Black River or Junction

• Airport transfers and ground excursions: Arranged with trusted, licensed local drivers

• Boat tour excursions: With an experienced boatman

Groceries & Pre-Arrival Stocking

Pre-stocking groceries and beverages can be arranged for the first few days of your stay. Items are purchased based on your preferences, and receipts are provided for refund to your cook. A sample menu offers a sense of the meals that can be prepared during your stay.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Destiny directly on the beach?
Yes. Walk down either a set of stairs or down the driveway, out the gate, and down the gravel road, and you are on Billy’s Bay Beach.

Can the staff accommodate special diets?
Absolutely. Please let us know in advance, and we can tailor the meals to your preferences.

Is the beach house child-friendly?
Yes, families are welcome. The large, in-ground pool has both shallow and deep ends. Please note that there are no guardrails or lifeguards, so we prefer that children know how to swim, be comfortable in the water, and be supervised by adults at all times.

Is there a restaurant or bar within walking distance?
Yes, below Destiny, on Billy’s Bay Beach, there is Ki’s On Di Beach. Other restaurants are approximately a 20+ min walk or a short drive away.

How far is Destiny from the Montego Bay and Kingston Airport?

• Montego Bay: 2.5 hours by private transfer with drivers familiar with the roads along Jamaica’s quiet South Coast.

• Kingston: Approximately 3 hours via the toll road and mountain route to Treasure Beach.

Do we need to rent a car?
Destiny, is about a 5-7 minute drive to “downtown” Treasure Beach or a 25-30 min walk.

Guests may choose to hire a private driver or rent a car “locally” to explore nearby restaurants, beaches, and attractions such as YS Falls, Appleton Estate, Black River, and Lover’s Leap.

Travel Note: If you have not driven to the South Coast before, we recommend you hire a driver to bring you from Montego Bay or Kingston, especially if part of your drive will be in the dark. The roads to the South Coast are not regularly paved highways, not always well-lit or clearly marked, and can include large potholes that have caused numerous flat tires.

“We visited Destiny Villa for our 25th Anniversary trip.

To start out, Nicole is far more than an AirBnB host; she's really a trip concierge. She planned our airport pickup, including setting up a three-way WhatsApp chat with the driver so everything was arranged before we left.

A week or so ahead of our trip, we received the menu options so we could plan the first few days of breakfasts, dinners and beverages. This allowed the staff to purchase food & drinks ahead of time and have them all set for our arrival.

Nicole communicated exactly how much cash to bring for each step of the way (so we didn’t need to pay local ATM fees).

The transportation was as low-stress as possible. Driving on Jamaican roads is a bit hectic for those used to US roads, but the drivers Nicole arranged were very adept a negotiating the traffic.

Arriving at Destiny, we were met by the staff, Nadine, Girlie & Randy. Randy quickly loaded our luggage into the room we chose, while Nadine & Girlie gave us the tour and helped us get settled.

Randy was there early each morning cleaning the pools and tidying the grounds. Nadine asked about our preferences for breakfast time and whether we wanted coffee or tea in the morning. Each day, Nadine and Girlie arrived a couple of hours before breakfast to cook and serve. They cleaned the house and the bedroom while we ate, then left mid-day. They also washed and folded laundry as needed.

Nadine and Girlie would arrive back a couple of hours before dinner to cook and serve, then leave for the night after cleanup.

The house was beautifully decorated and very clean. We felt very safe at all times.

One great part of Destiny is the number of ocean views to stare at. Nadine offered to move the table to eat at a variety of spots on the property (by the infinity pool, by the big pool, on the rooftop patio).

We spent most of our days just sitting by or in the infinity pool, relaxing. We enjoyed floating in the pool, staring at the ocean, relaxing and reading. (there is a large JBL Bluetooth speaker). The sun is very strong, so plenty of sunscreen is a must. There is bug spray in the villa and the bugs came out for a little while just after sunset.

We also enjoyed lounging on the rooftop patio at night, looking at the stars.

One of the biggest highlights of our time at Destiny was a couples massage on the patio (with the noise from ocean waves in the background - Nicole recommended Joshua Stein to us).

The bedrooms are very nice, with local Jamaican touches. If you want to watch TV, be prepared that many streaming services from the US limit what content you can access outside of the US. Netflix worked great, but Hulu didn't work at all.

Nadine was fantastic and took excellent care of all our needs (my wife experienced some GI issues during the time at Destiny. Nadine took a trip to get medication and was very caring with my wife).

The meals were a great representation of homemade Jamaican food and desserts. There was usually enough leftover food from dinner to eat for lunch the next day. Nadine was kind enough to teach us her recipes and even bought spices for us to take home. She also made us extra Gizzada & Sweet Potato Pone to bring home.

One morning, a vendor stopped by with a van full of gifts, Jamaican clothing, etc. This was very convenient because we didn't need to go shopping anywhere else for local gifts to bring home.

We have stayed at many vacation rentals and cannot recommend Nicole & Destiny highly enough! We had an amazing time there.”

Destiny is a beautiful villa off the beaten path of your typical Jamaica vacation, it is 2.5 hours from Montego Bay. Don't fret the amazing property concierge, Nicole, will arrange your transportation with Uan, an amazing person with a heart of gold. He will get you wherever you need to go during your stay safely, with some great facts and stories along the way.

Every meal prepared was fresh and delicious, and the home is kept impeccable during your entire stay. The details the owner included in the beautiful embedded glass artwork in the walls make you feel like you are staying in an artist's villa. Next door, is an amazing beach bar with the best bartender in Treasure Beach. The owner of the villa went above and beyond to make sure this was the most memorable vacation ever. Thank you, for making my birthday feel like a true celebration by inviting us to local parties and the beach bonfires.

The sunsets in Treasure Beach are magnificent and it’s truly a "treasure" as you will feel like you have the beach all to yourself. "This was the perfect way to get a sense of the real Jamaica. From the gorgeous ocean views/sounds, the night sky and sunsets to getting to know the locals and participating in the community. The staff were exceptional and welcoming. They were a source of local information and an insight to Jamaican traditions and foods. The fishermen in the bay beside us added another dimension and we were able to get fresh fish for dinner. The meals prepared by Nikki were delicious - including lobster, snapper, curried goat and other delicacies. Destiny is a tranquil and beautiful spot. With such a large property we were very content to spend most of our time roaming around, swimming and generally relaxing. Although there are many options for the more adventurous. "I had the most luxurious and tranquil vacation courtesy of the Destiny in Treasure Beach. Staying at Destiny was simply paradise. I enjoyed sunset dinners from the rooftop patio with a clear view of the ocean and the night sky. Every morning I woke up to the smashing of the waves and the sweet sound of the Jamaican birds. These must be the birds Bob Marley sings about! The property is lined with beautiful tropical and fruit trees. The staff is generous and kind and treated me with warm Jamaican hospitality. Every day I would swim in the therapeutic ocean and chat with the local fisherman. I would get my fresh vegetables from Mr. and Mrs. Brown and I would get my fresh fish from Mr. Hill. By the end of my amazing stay I felt relaxed, peaceful and re-energized. On a scale of one to five, I would rate Destiny a six! I love the Luna House!"

”This is is my home away from home. My family has visited Treasure Beach many times and we always stay here. My favorite part of the house is the amazing rooftop patio where you watch the gorgeous sunset and see hundreds of stars. My stay was nothing short of perfect! The staff feel like family and they are very helpful. They also prepared delicious meals. During our stay, we lounged at the private pool, took long walks on the beach, picked fruit from the trees in the yard, went on a boat tour to Pelican Bar and Sunny Island and enjoyed getting to know true Jamaica. The local fisherman brought us some of their daily catch. We savored snapper fish, kingfish and lobster! We also visited some of the nearby attractions, including YS Falls and the Black River tour. We look forward to returning to our all-time favorite vacation destination!"
