Blue Marlin
Great Bay, Treasure Beach Jamaica

Facing sunset, the long sandy beach you see here is the largest and most private of any in Treasure Beach, or for that matter, on the entire South Coast. Sheltered and protected by Great Pedro Bluff that rises before you, the waters are calm and ideal for children.

Profiled dramatically against the Santa Cruz Mountains, on 2.5 acres of mature gardens and lawns that gently cascade down to the edge of the beach, BLUE MARLIN and COQUINA are hidden away -- yet just an 8 minute drive from Calabash Bay and the center of Treasure Beach. Good reason they're two of the most favored villas in all Treasure Beach for the past 40 years. Rent BLUE MARLIN or COQUINA (or both together) for a great getaway for 1-14 guests.

Couples, friends, larger or multi-family groups are all perfectly accommodated here. You'll be well pampered by a very gracious and welcoming staff who will quickly help you forget the pace of life you left behind. And in more than one sense, you might find yourself traveling back in time...

Over 10 centuries ago, sailing up from Venezuela, some of Jamaica's earliest peoples, the Taino, chose this very spot to settle, as evidenced by the rare collection of carved stones, shells and artifacts showcased at BLUE MARLIN and COQUINA. Pirates, the Spanish, the British came too, as evidenced by a terra cotta urn and a seaward-pointing cannon on the grounds. Explore beautifully manicured tropical gardens of cacti, succulents, frangipani, hibiscus -- all around you is a rich greenness rarely found in these parts.

Laze away in hammocks under a thatched Taino hut at oceanside. Stroll along a beach virtually yours all alone, save for local fishermen, coming in late in the day with a bounty of fish and seafood line-caught off the Pedro Cays. Life changes little here. Which is exactly why yours might well be altered.

BLUE MARLIN is well-shaded and situated to catch ocean breezes. Every room has a ceiling or in-wall fan, a/c available for small additional fee. View the sea and the beach from the verandah and living room through louvered windows and fold back doors. The dining room features a three-pedestal Jamaican antique mahogany table that seats 14 -- plus, a trophy blue marlin mounted above a showcase of locally-found shells. There are also two outdoor dining areas, one under an arbor, for casual lunch or dinner al fresco or have breakfast under the almond tree while you check your e-mails (if you feel inclined). Your cook, housekeeper and house manager will pamper you beyond your dreams.

"Everyone was truly welcoming and helpful - Sally, Mr Hibbert, Barbara, Sandy, the entire crew. We appreciate your help and will highly recommend Tiverton House."

~ Guests from Charlotte, Vermont

"We had a wonderful time at Blue Marlin -- it was definitely one of our best vacations ever! The weather was perfect and we were on the beach and in the ocean at least twice a day, every day. The beach hut was great and we made good use of the lounge chairs and hammocks. The villa was just right for our group and we especially enjoyed eating together in the dining room and outdoors. We will miss the sun, sand and surf but, most of all, we will miss Sally and her smile.

She took such good care of us and we loved every meal that she cooked. Sally's breakfasts were the best way to start every day -- the freshly-squeezed orange juice, ackee and saltfish, eggs, french toast, the fresh papayas, pineapples, grapefruit, bananas and, best of all, the Johnny cakes and festival. My mouth waters just thinking about the grilled lobster, beef stew, jerk and stewed chicken, smothered, pork chops, fish cakes, chicken and vegetable soup and all the delicious side dishes including rice and peas, fried plantains, macaroni and various salads. And, of course, we will miss the desserts:  pineapple upside-down cake, brownies, key lime pie, rum cake and carrot cake. Everything was so yummy!"

~ Guests (4 adults & 5 children) from Canada

"Everything was wonderful! Sally was terrific, made some of the best meals we ever had. The kids enjoyed everything as well which as you may know is hard to please the children. We most definitely want to come back some day (as soon as we possibly can). It was such a serene, peaceful place.Exactly what we wanted."

~ Guests from New Jersey

"Our first view was jaw-dropping -- the houses and grounds are absolutely beautiful -- and the wonder of the place stayed with us the entire time. Our cook was superb. Our staff were wonderful, gracious and really helpful. Our trip to Jamaica was perfect in every way."

~ Guests from Philadelphia, Boston and Atlanta

"A trip back in time...the sound of the ocean...a peaceful spot at the end of the world...and real, genuinely warm-hearted people. What we came to Jamaica for we found right here. What a place! In fact, we were treated so well, we felt like royalty!"

"No matter how many times we visit, we never cease to be amazed by the wonderful treatment of the staff and the tranquility of this last 'Eden'."

~ Guests from Ontario, Canada

"It's not often that you go back to a place and it surpasses your first time there. The more times we come back, the more we appreciate and love Great Bay -- and the BlueMarlin."
